Driveways

A driveway carries vehicle loads every day, so the build-up underneath matters more than the surface on top. We excavate to depth, install a compacted MOT sub-base, concrete-haunch the edgings and finish in the surface you choose.

What's included

  • Block paving and cobble setts
  • Tarmacadam and asphalt surfacing
  • Resin bound gravel
  • Loose gravel and shingle drives
  • Brickwork edgings, walls and pillars
  • Dropped kerbs and access widening
  • Aco drainage and permeable build-ups

Built to take the weight

Excavation depth, geotextile membrane and a compacted sub-base laid in layers - the parts you never see are what stop a drive rutting and sinking under a car.

Drainage that meets the rules

New driveways need to deal with surface water on your own land. We use permeable build-ups, channel drains or soakaways so run-off doesn't end up on the pavement.

Common questions

How long does a driveway take?
A typical domestic driveway takes three to seven working days depending on size, the amount of dig-out and the surface chosen.
Do I need planning permission?
Not usually, as long as the surface is permeable or the water drains to a soakaway or border on your own property. We build it that way as standard.
