Patios & Paving
A patio is the part of the garden you use most, so it needs to be laid properly. We install porcelain, natural stone, block paving and concrete slabs with full mortar beds, primed slabs and the correct falls away from the house.
What's included
- Porcelain and vitrified paving
- Natural stone - Indian sandstone, limestone and granite
- Block paving and setts
- Slabbing and concrete utility paving
- Steps, level changes and sleeper retaining
- Linear drainage and soakaways
- Brushed or resin jointing
Full bed, not five spots of mortar
Every slab is laid on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer. It costs more in time and materials, and it's the reason our patios don't rock, hollow or stain from below.
Water goes where it should
We lay to a fall away from the building, keep paving below the damp proof course and add channel drainage or soakaways where the ground can't take the run-off.
Common questions
- Porcelain or sandstone?
- Porcelain is harder wearing, doesn't stain and stays cleaner with almost no maintenance. Natural sandstone is warmer looking and suits period properties. We'll show you samples of both.
- Can you replace an old patio without disturbing the garden?
- Usually yes. We protect access routes, board over lawns and take the old material away as we go.
